Listener Question

Paul asks:

” I just reviewed your sourdough starter video and hope that will help me with mine which I have been working on for over one month with little success. I am thinking it may have something to do with the type of flour I am using – Einkorn flour – a heritage grain because I am trying to stay away from modern wheat and all that gluten it contains. I see in your video that the sourdough yeast helps to break down the gluten. Does this mean that it will help to neutralize the ill effects of all that bad protein and gluten found in modern wheat? I have also been trying red fife flour which is grown locally near here on Manitoulin Island and will that help the sourdough starter grow? I am really trying to find a substitute for modern wheat products and do not overly enjoy almond flour bread etc.”

OMG thanks for the homemade Petroleum jelly. I’m allergic to all petroleum products so I never know what to say when people are recommending it. Plus my kids are allergic to and I loved p jelly on my face when I did winter sports, so this helps me not trigger their allergies to my level.
