It's Monday – and time for another Real Food Quote Monday (RFQM). Today, I've got a light quote to share with you. My internet friend SueEllen shared it with me. You will like it!
“I thought you might find this interesting. I am reading an old fiction book from the 40s called “Cherry Ames, Cruise Nurse.” The patient, a 7-year old boy, does not want to eat. The doctor says that is okay — he can have a big chocolate milkshake instead of eating. He then tells the nurse, Cherry Ames, to add a raw egg. Sounds like Nourishing Traditions to me.”
Boy, doesn't it? I thought you all would enjoy the quote, so I asked SueEllen if she would type up the whole quote for me to post on a Monday. She kindly did and here it is. Enjoy!
“I'm not hungry,” Timmy howled. “I won't eat!”
Dr. Monroe said gently, “And you don't have to, Tim. Not if you drink a big chocolate milk shake.” To Cherry, he added quietly: “Put a raw egg in it.”
And that's it! Much shorter after the last five weeks of quoting from”Eat Fat, Lose Fat.” What do you think of today's quote? Can you think of any other books that remind you of Nourishing Traditions, or traditional food? The first ones that comes to mind for a lot of us are probably the Little House books, right?
