Add vanilla extract and optional coconut or crushed nuts to Basic Dough.
Roll into balls and use thumb, small dowel, or the end of a wooden spoon to make a small indentation in the center of the ball.
Fill each dip with about 1/4 teaspoon jam.
Bake as described in Basic Dough (recipe above).
