Ingredients

  • 2 cups cornmeal *
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 organic or pastured egg
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 8 to 10 pieces bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Line a cast iron skillet with raw bacon.
  3. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  4. Pour the cornbread batter on top of the bacon.
  5. Bake until the top is golden brown.
