Teach Your Kids to Cook Real Food

… You can quickly and easily teach your kids to cook real food, even if you’re not a gourmet cook or natural-born teacher, and are so busy just trying to get a meal on the table that teaching the kids to cook seems like an impossible dream… and even if they can’t read, are picky eaters, or get bored quickly …

Dear Mom,

Have you been trying to teach your kids how to cook?

Have you looked at cookbooks for kids… but gotten frustrated because they’re full of sweet treats and pre-packaged ingredients?

Are you looking for a way to start bringing the kids into the kitchen without driving yourself insane, or making cooking another boring task on the chore wheel?

My name is Wardee Harmon. I am the lead teacher for Traditional Cooking School - an online cooking school I created to honor my grandmother’s cooking traditions and preserve them so that future generations can enjoy the health benefits, flavors and fun of traditionally prepared foods.

And I’m the author of Fermenting and Complete Idiot’s Guide to Fermenting Foods.

But I wasn’t always a pro in the kitchen. I remember when my kids were little. I had one in my arms, one under my feet, and one standing on a kitchen chair next to me.

Just trying to get a warm meal on the table was mayhem. I used to daydream about the day when they would be old enough to cook dinner for me… or even just help a little by peeling carrots and stirring the soup.

And then that day came. The kids were older, happier, helpful, good fun… and they could cook! What changed?

Well, time went by of course. Kids have this funny way of growing taller. (I’m not going to lie, time solves a lot of problems.)

But the other thing that happened is something I DIDN’T do: I didn’t kick my kids out of the kitchen. The other moms told their kids to “go play while mommy makes dinner” or yelled, “get out of my way!”

But I did something radically different: I thought about the different skills you need to run a kitchen, organized them by age and ability, and then started teaching the kids to cook. It was slow going at first. And there were a lot of messes.

But eventually, I settled on a system that worked for my whole family. The littlest one could push the buttons on the blender. The middle one could chop, sort, and stir. And the oldest could debone a chicken better than a world-class chef.

I found myself wondering, “Could this system work for other families?”

So, I contacted my friend Jami Delgado at Eat Nourishing. And we got to work.

We polished the techniques, organized the tools, developed recipes, made videos, and took darling pictures of our kids making pancakes in the kitchen. It was a blast!

Can You Boil Water?

One of the myths of “mommy-ing” is that the best moms are just born that way. They can cook, clean, read bedtime stories, and teach character lessons… all at the same time.

But the truth is, running a home is a learn-on-the-job crash course in teamwork, creativity and generosity. And that plays itself out every day in the kitchen.

My kitchen struggles came down to 2 things:

  • I wasn’t a very good cook.
  • I wanted the kids to help cook, but I didn’t know how to teach them.

The result? Big-time frustration, temper tantrums, and unhealthy food that didn’t taste good.

I would have loved to shorten the struggle and learning curve of those early years. I can’t go back in time, but I can give you the next best thing…

Introducing Real Food Kids...
The Fun, On-Demand eBook

Introducing Real Food Kids, the on-demand eBook for kids and their parents!

The full Real Food Kids eBppl includes: the Real Food Kids eCookbook, a 140-page, 19-lesson eCookbook adventure guide; 5 streaming videos; printables; and on-the-job cooking training for kids of all ages!

It’s special because it gives you the freedom, flexibility and support you need to build your own cooking skills, while you teach age-appropriate skills to the kids.

Imagine being able to trust your 6-year-old to peel the carrots so that you can turn your full attention to roasting the chicken.

Would that make your life better?

You might think, “What’s the big deal? I can quickly peel the carrots myself.” And you’re right.

But what if you’ve got 15 minutes to throw something together for dinner. What do you do?

Choice A is to shoo the kids out of the kitchen, peel the carrots yourself, and skip the chicken altogether.

Choice B is to feel irritated that the kids are making too much noise in the living room, cook the chicken, skip the carrots, and tell yourself you’ll serve a vegetarian meal tomorrow.

And choice C is to give your veggie peeler to your son, decide that crazy, half-scraped carrots are just fine, roast that chicken in a hot oven, and smile to yourself because… come on!… how cute is your little one right now.

It’s adorable how kids love to help in the kitchen!

Here’s My Promise To You

You can quickly and easily teach your kids to cook real foods using my simple Real Food Kids System.

Your kids will learn simple, age-appropriate cooking skills that build on one another and grow with them.

Before you know it, your kitchen will be full of kids cooking together to make tasty, real food meals that bless the whole family with good health, fun flavors, and cooking skills that last a lifetime.

How Does Real Food Kids Help You?

I designed Real Food Kids to be fun and intuitive. Each lesson builds on the other. And there’s a logical flow to the skills as the kids get older. If you have multiple kids, the lessons are organized specifically so the kids don’t get in each other’s way during cooking time.

There’s no bickering over who gets to hold the vegetable peeler, arguing over who gets to scoop the flour, and none of that annoying pretending to “help” while the kids make a giant mess in your kitchen. You proceed at your own pace, make just the recipes that interest you the most, and build your confidence as you go.

Inside you will learn…

  • How to build life-long healthy cooking and eating habits that will last your child’s entire life. I’ll show you my family’s philosophy for cooking together and show you how to make a frame-worthy Kitchen Philosophy of your own. - Page 11

A Special Offer For You

For a limited time, I have created a special offer for Christian families who want their children to grow up loving real food... and knowing how to cook it.

This is an opportunity for your entire family to start enjoying being in the kitchen together... and for you to start a legacy that will follow your children into their adult lives with their own families (and hopefully longer!).

How much would it be worth to you to see your children cooking and loving real food for the rest of their lives?

I've priced out comparable cooking courses (which don't cover nearly as much as we do) and they'll run you about $1000 each...

In contrast, the Real Food Kids eBook covers 19 topics, from how to teach your kids to recognize real food, to age-appropriate kitchen skills for all your children (even the toddler)... and you'll get gobs of kid-friendly recipes that your children will love to cook (and eat!)... like snacks and main dishes and desserts and more...

You and your children can watch the 5 video demonstrations over and over again, and everything is documented in the printable tutorials so you can refer to the recipes and information long into the future.

The bottom line is: What I’m offering you is much more comprehensive than a single lesson. And it costs a fraction of what you’d pay to learn each topic, one at a time. Plus, it gives you plenty of detail to get you started on the right path.

So how does it work? The Real Food Kids eBook comes as a downloadable PDF that you can load up on your computer, tablet, or phone!

Got a Question?

Here are the most common questions and answers about the Real Food Kids eBook. If you have any other questions, click the chat bubble on this page and we'll answer right away!

Is it too late to improve my children's health?

No. It’s never too late to start feeling better. Why? Parents often sacrifice their own needs. And as the years go by, their health gradually declines. I want parents of any age to be able to feel better, starting today... as well as their children to get started on the right foot!

How much work is involved in this eBook?

There’s some work involved in this eBook. But I can honestly say, it’s some of the funnest work I’ve done. The cooking techniques are simple. And the recipes are mostly “mix and go.” It’s easy. And the results are amazingly effective. We suggest getting in the kitchen with the children once or twice a week for an hour or two... you'll be amazed how much they learn and master! And if you're already cooking, involve them then, too!

Is the Real Food Kids eBook taught as a live class?

No. This is the companion eBook to our online eCourse. The videos you get are pre-recorded, so you don’t have to show up anywhere, at a specific day or time. The eBook is ready for you to download immediately after purchase.

Is there a printed or hard-copy version of this eBook?

Not at this time, no. However, you have our permission to print out your Real Food Kids eBook PDF for personal use.

What if I decide I don't like it?

No worries. We offer a 30-day money back guarantee. Just contact us within 30 days of your purchase and we'll be happy to refund your investment, less any shipping and fulfillment costs.

Is religion a huge theme in this eBook?

We focus on the techniques of preparing real foods using traditional methods that preserve or enhance the nutritional value of the original ingredients.

There is a heavy emphasis on answering the “how” questions. However, there is always a reason for “why” we do things, and it is this “why” that is often more important than the “how.”

Our philosophy: At Traditional Cooking School by GNOWFGLINS, we believe that God is our creator and the source of all things good. God is the “why” for all that we do, including the way we cultivate, harvest, prepare and eat foods. That’s why we share our love for God and explain how we can see God’s design in our food.

This resonates with most of our students, though some participate solely for the techniques. We are happy to help you either way.
