Here are our family’s supplements… the ones we use daily and even some we use occasionally. I’ll put notes by each one to share details. Please refer to this podcast about balancing hormones naturally where a lot of supplements and ideas that are mentioned on this page are discussed!
Please note: I’m not a doctor, so I can’t give medical advice… I can only share what we do and our experience. Please feel free to get direction from your doctor and of course do your own research. 🙂

Superfoods
Collagen (and use code TCS10 to get 10% off) — As we age, our collagen production declines… leading to joint pain and injury, sagging skin, and weak hair, skin, and nails. I notice a HUGE difference in my hair, skin and nails when I consume collagen regularly. My husband and I each have 3 scoops daily (33g total). This collagen is grass-fed and glyphosate-free (RoundUp-free).
Real Salt — Containing essential sodium and unprocessed! We salt our food liberally (but not excessively) to provide the essential nutrient (sodium) plus trace minerals.
MCT Oil (and use code TCS10 to get 10% off) — read this for why you might consider MCT oil. 🙂
Vitamins
B1, B2, B3, B12 plus B9 — we supplement with stand-alone B vitamins only when needed. Ideally, we all get these vitamins from food but when detoxing or healing, the need for B vitamins may be greater from time to time. Some of these I split up because they are too large a dose as is. Or we take every other day. Neither of are taking these every day or even all of them. We test them one by one to see if they help with anything and if they don’t, we don’t take them.
Vitamin D Sun Lamp — It’s ESSENTIAL to get your Vitamin D and the very best way is via the sun or a sun lamp like this. Please note: this company has a Vitamin D lamp and a tanning lamp. We use the tanning lamp because it has a full spectrum of light and most closely matches the sun.
Minerals
It’s important to take minerals apart from thyroid medication (at least an hour)! Before bed is a great time, or throughout the day as needed.
Keystone Minerals — a blended mineral supplement from Dr. Garrett Smith, the Nutrition Detective. It has a good daily amount of 3 of the minerals mentioned below: zinc, molybdenum, and selenium. It contains magnesium, too, but only as a filler, not a significant source. My husband as well as our son and daughter take 1 of these daily. I am not able to since it is too much zinc for me.
Topical Magnesium — Magnesium deficiency is rampant and could be a primary cause of constipation, leg cramps, sleep issues, and more. The very best way to supplement magnesium is topically — via a lotion like this (or this) and also through foot baths or full baths with magnesium salt like this. My husband and I take a magnesium bath every night and I also use a homemade magnesium oil spray.
Magnesium Glycinate — Although topical magnesium is best, currently I (Wardee) benefit from taking extra magnesium capsules before bed to help sleep better.
Potassium Chloride or Glyconate —Important in balance with magnesium, zinc and other minerals. I got relief from leg cramps, more energy, eliminated “crashing” after meals, and improved bowel movements when I added potassium capsules throughout the day with meals and before bed (be sure to test slowly – don’t overdo). We also make 50:50 salt blend for our food which is half sea salt and half potassium chloride salt with a bit of cream of tartar. The recipe is 8 ounces by weight each of sea salt and potassium chloride salt with 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. Mix well; fill your salt shakers with this instead of straight sodium salt, then salt food to taste. Tastes just like salt and you’re supplementing potassium every time you eat!
Zinc Picinolate — Soooo important for the immune system and nearly everyone is deficient in zinc. About 15mg to 30mg daily is a good basic amount. However, some may be sensitive to zinc, so it’s important to find the amount that helps instead of hinders your healing. If you take zinc and you feel unwell, headachey, or tired, that’s a sign it’s too much for you. Take zinc with meals to avoid nausea.
Molybdenum — Nearly everyone is deficient in this little known mineral. It single-handedly helped me balance copper (which should NOT be supplemented in any form) and potassium to relieve the heavy fatigue I was experiencing due to potassium deficiency. It’s essential for our bodies’ detox pathways in the liver.
Super Selenium Complex 200mg — For thyroid and metabolism support.
Digestion Support
Heather’s Tummy Care Fiber — While psyllium and other insoluble fiber supplements cause pain, gas, and bloating, this fiber is soluble, gentle, and non-irritating. It’s recommended to use twice daily and up to 5 tablespoons total per day (start small though!) but I get best results if I take it once a day, at dinner. You mix your desired amount with room temp water, stir briefly, and let sit a minute or so, then come back again to stir until dissolved. Then drink and it’s easy to consume because it’s tasteless and doesn’t thicken the water to a gummy mess. Also, if you hit 5 teaspoons or more per day (which may be too much for many), this is considered a prebiotic… food for probiotics!
Apple Pectin — a wonderful soluble fiber to help with bowel movements, regularity, and detox. We each have 3 to 4 capsules daily, spread out between morning and evening meals.
HCL with Gentian Bitters — Of this list, this is the only digestive support which my husband uses and I do not. The HCL (stomach acid) and bitters give digestion system a kick-start to digest food better from the moment it hits his stomach. He gets an upset stomach if he doesn’t take one of these with each meal, so we know it’s helpful.
Other
Lactoferrin — Another supplement from Dr. Garrett Smith, the Nutrition Detective. This milk-based protein supports your detox system, rebalances the gut, fixes iron deficiency anemias, and supports breaking down biofilms such as bile ducts and pathways. This lactoferrin is free of any extra ingredients and made from fresh, premium, French milk, for the highest possible quality. Please note: it is important to start out with a TINY amount of this. When we started taking it, we opened 1 capsule and put it in a baggie, then dosed out half of 1/64th teaspoon (1/132nd teaspoon) in water with meals. Work up SLOWLY, watching for any distressing symptoms that indicate it’s too much for you. With us, when we have too much, we don’t sleep as well. Over the months we’ve been taking this, my husband has worked up to 1/64th plus 1/132nd teaspoon, while I am still at 1/132nd teaspoon.
Endorphinate — (use this link and coupon code below for an EXTRA 10% off) This supplement supports and/or boosts your body’s endorphin levels so you can handle pain, depression, addictions, stress, and/or cravings better. Helpful for autism, ADD, ADHD, too. They have 3 formulas: PR (pain relief) for mild pain; CF (caffeine free); and AR (anxiety relief). The caffeine in PR and AR is guarana extract, a slow release caffeine and non-addicting in this combination. My husband currently took the CF (morning and afternoon) to help him with neuropathy pain and it made a subtle difference… but most importantly, he was at the point of having to increase his pain medication and this kept him from doing that. We think because it not only took away some of the pain, it ALSO prevented him from being desensitized to his pain medication. I used to take it myself but have since gone off most supplements in order to detox my liver and recover from Vitamin A and copper toxicity. Here is an interview with the creator where he shares more about how it works and who it can help.
- 1 bottle – save 10% (everyone else 0% off) – use code Wardee1

TRS Spray — Our doctor told us about using zeolite to help the body remove toxic mercury from the body. My husband and I both have a lot of mercury fillings (removing them may be an option down the line), and just chewing releases mercury into the body continually. When we heard that the TRS zeolite spray could help with this, we decided to try it. It binds to heavy metals and facilitates removing them from the body. My husband’s feet definitely feel better when he uses this regularly (he has neuropathy in his feet). I believe it helps me with my digestive issues, gut health, and copper toxicity. Use 1 spray per day per 30 pounds of body-weight. If you weigh 180 pounds, that means 6 sprays per day, and it’s helpful to spread them out so you’re using the spray twice per day about 12 hours apart. So for this example, 3 sprays in the am and 3 sprays in the pm. But do build up to this! And lest you worry that the zeolite will bind to nutrients your body needs, such as iron, don’t. Those are unaffected by the TRS spray because the body has already “claimed” or bound those. Please note: We also follow the recommendation to take 1 or 2 activated charcoal pills such as these daily to assist in the removal of the toxins the TRS spray has bound (mid-day between the sprays).
MesoSilver — A true colloidal silver. We use silver to prevent infections of all kinds, but especially respiratory infection since my husband is prone to pneumonia. We use silver one of three ways: 1) held under the tongue for a minute, then swallowed; 2) put in a spray bottle and sprayed into throat; or 3) nebulized with an in-home nebulizer (scroll down to Omron nebulizer) according to these instructions. In the past, I have also used it dropped right into my ear to kill an ear infection (it worked!). If you’d like to know more about what true colloidal silver is and why most in the marketplace are not the true/best form, read this. And also, here’s more info if you’re concerned about damaging your gut health.
