In this episode of Know Your Food with Wardee, I’m visiting with my friend Lydia Shatney, a nutritional therapist and teacher of the online class, Heal Your Gut. We’re talking about the prevalence of gut and digestion issues (they encompass A LOT) and her top three suggestions for improving gut health and digestion. Below you’ll find some really helpful links to supplement the info shared in this podcast.

3 Things You Can Do To Improve Digestion

In this episode, Lydia shared three tips for improving digestion. Anyone can do them — they’re really simple and they’re really helpful. Follow the linked text for more information from Lydia’s blog.

  1. Learn to eat in a relaxed state.
  2. Chew your food! It’s the first step in digestion and really important.
  3. Eat something raw or fermented with every meal to provide enzymes for digestion.

For more info on homemade fermented foods, refer to my book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Fermenting Foods, my online class Lacto-Fermentation eCourse, or my Lacto-Fermentation eBook.

Great post. I would also suggest adding natural high fiber foods to your diet.

I have suffered from digestive problems for several years and now know that my problem was due to gluten and leaky gut syndrome. I have an ebook on Amazon that describes how to heal the gut and how to embark on a successful healthy gluten free diet.
