In this episode of Know Your Food with Wardee, my guest is Todd Albi, owner and president of Silver Fire Clean Cooking Products. Todd’s company produces clean cook stoves (such as rocket stoves), ovens, and bio mass products for emergency, recreation and every day living. My husband and I visited the show room (pictured above) in Eugene, Oregon a few months ago. Todd was interesting and knowledgeable and so I knew he would make a great guest for this podcast!
Get to know Todd through the links and information below, and of course through this podcast. Plus… the tip of the week!

Tip of the Week
Save your leftover butter papers in the fridge, then pull them out when you need to grease something. No waste and no mess! Thanks, Nadine, for this great tip!
About Todd Albi and Silver Fire
Todd’s entry into the world of clean cook stoves was creating the not-just-for profit StoveTec® operation in 2008 for the 501(c)3, Aprovecho Research Center. As Managing Director, he led sales and marketing, logistical operations, special projects, and product development. Todd left StoveTec December 2012 to start the new SilverFire® quality clean cook stove organization, to provide new advances in the clean cook stove market for both developed World and humanitarian developing World application.
His expertise in respiratory medicine, medical sales and NAVY diving medicine (as a member of SEAL TEAM ONE), made for a natural transition and interest in the promotion and sales of clean cook stoves, and emission reductions.
Todd holds a BS from the University of Oregon and is the father of 2 sets of twins (4 college graduates). He currently runs SilverFire® clean cooking products in Eugene, Oregon.

hi just want to clarify if “quality clean cook stove” also means the bottom of my cooking wares will not turn black . Here in the philippines using wood as fuel is very common and cleaning the pot after becomes a burden. The “blacks’ stained all the utensils that come in contact..

one way to clean the bottom of a pan that you are cooking over a fire is to coat it with a little liquid dish detergent before using it. This will let you clean the bottom quicker.
Now if you mean inside then I don’t have any suggestions for you.
