Jonathan Harris is committed to helping his children do just that. And today he’s stopping by to share tips and resources with us so we can help our children do the same.

In today’s podcast, meet Jonathan and his family, including his Jonathan Jr. who he has already helped find a very interesting career in aerial filmography.

About Jonathan Harris

My name is Jonathan Harris and I am the author of the “10K to Talent” website.

As a homeschooling father with eight children in the home (my oldest child just turned 17 years old), I began to earnestly look for ways to make the standard educational time more productive and worthwhile. My fear was that we were going to spend so much time perfecting educational details and still wind up getting to where we really didn’t want to be. Instead I wanted to be able to give my children an inspiration to develop early in their life a focus and a drive to cultivating something that they would eventually be very, very good at, and maybe even something that they could use to provide for themselves with a generous living.

As a result, I started experimenting with dovetailing our standard study times as a means to push my children into a deeper understanding around one chosen topic of their interest. Then I tried other ideas that were equally as successful. Because of these home-grown experimentations in education, I am discovering some great techniques and ideas along the way that I want to share with other homeschooling parents. I am doing all of this so I can guide my children into a life-long passion early enough so they can avoid wandering aimlessly in their early twenties through unfocused college degrees or low-paying market skills. Passion, focus, discipline, creativity, productivity: Why not get all those good things for our children before the age of 18?

    Really appreciated these podcasts.

When I can’t take the world, I turn you on.

On a different note, realized that manipulating/organizing iTunes is my issue with listening to you.

There is just so much there that finding you is the HARDEST part on my own computer.

Really only use it for you.

If I have this issue, then so do others.

You understand in your website set-up how to lay it out to people.

    Thanks, Rachel

Fantastic! As a homeschooling mom I feel so responsible for making sure the kids are “trained up in the way they should go,” including whatever talents the Lord has put in them. I believe this podcast is an answer to many prayers! Our kids are a bit younger than twelve, but I know this approach will help get them started in the right direction. So grateful!
