Tip of the Week: Diffuse Essential Oils for Congestion/Breathing/Allergies
When I was recording this podcast, I was getting over an allergy attack from house cleaning. Yes, I'm allergic to deep cleaning. 🙂 However, this time I got over it much more quickly and I slept breathing clearly that first night of the attack — thanks to diffusing essential oils.
(That's my diffuser pictured above, and no, I can't find it sold anywhere!)
Here are good oils to diffuse for congestion/cold/breathing: eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, peppermint, white fir, lime, rosemary, thyme. I used a blend called Breathe Ease from Rocky Mountain Oils (to which I added some peppermint).

“I came to your site because your Facebook page always has some good posts for substitutions. I am wondering if you have ever tried a substitution for corn syrup in recipes. Most of the corn syrup I can find at the store has high fructose corn syrup in with the corn syrup and since I'm trying to avoid high fructose corn syrup I can't use it. Obviously I want something that doesn't have much taste. Agave syrup, liquid cane sugar, sorghum, maple syrup, honey, some combo of these? Thanks in advance.”
