They grew up gardening, each of them. One in the country, one in the city. And when they met and married, their common interest became their favorite past-time. And aren’t we blessed — they take the camera with them out to the potting shed, garden, and even in the kitchen when preserving the bounty.

What they share becomes simple and no-nonsense organic gardening tips and tutorials at their site, The Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener.

And today, Holly joins me to share their story — and some really great tips about organic vegetable gardening. Listen in!

Tip of the Week: Sore Throat Gargle

Illness went through our house during January and February. The worst part of it was the itchy sore throat that kept us awake even when we were really tired.

We tried various natural treatments like steams and tea. But you know what really worked? Gargling.

You put a bit of comfortably warm water in a cup and add a couple drops of peppermint essential oil. Then gargle for as long as you can — like minutes (not seconds).

That’s it. So simple — and it works!
