We gave this herb seasoning salt away as gifts a couple Christmases ago. I bought salt shakers at the dollar store and filled them up with this homemade mix. Jeff’s godmother just ran out and asked for the recipe. Since the kids are going to be seeing her on their trip away, I made a batch this morning. The kids will be able to deliver a jar of it along with the recipe.

- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 cup dried parsley

Thanks for this recipe. I have been keeping seasoning mixes in the back of my mind as an idea for Christmas gifts this year. This one looks good!

This salt is fabuous! I am so glad you gave me the recipe Wardee! I have been using it ever since. I also use it to make a sweet/spicey chicken marinade.
Herbed Citris Chicken
1/2 c. honey (or agave)
1/4 c. orange juice
2 T. Italian seasoning
1 T. herb salt
1 T. hot pepper sauce (optional for an added kick)
1 1/4 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts cut long
Mix marinade ingredience.
Marinade chicken at least 1 hour.
Broil 4″ from heat 8 – 10 minutes.
(Originally I skewered the chicken, but it’s just as good not.)
