This is Part 2! Listen/read part 1 here.
Who knew gelatin could be so beautiful (see that book cover below)… or so marvelously healing? As Sylvie McCracken found out, gelatin is one of the foods we should all be eating more. It’s crucial for many aspects of our health including bones, teeth, skin, and more.
A celebrity personal assistant by day and writer/chef/mom by night and weekend, Sylvie blogs at Hollywood Homestead. She’s the author of the new and beautiful book, The Gelatin Secret. (I highly recommend it!)
Gelatin is a secret no more, thanks to Sylvie’s great work!
Get to know Sylvie, her family, and more about gelatin through the links and information below, and of course through this podcast (which is part 2 of 2). Plus… the tip of the week!

An Announcement and Welcome to Survival Mom Listeners!
My podcast is now in the line-up at The Survival Mom Radio Network. I’m so excited to join the ladies over there (many are great friends).
What does this mean for you? Not much, except…
1) My episodes will be shorter from here on out. I’m changing them from around an hour each to about 30 minutes. I am actually very happy about this because it’s easier for most people to find time for a half hour show. (Before making this change, I had already visited with Sylvie for around an hour — thus why I’m breaking this one up into two parts.)
2) Over at Survival Mom radio, my episodes will air on Wednesdays. This will affect you if you listen from there. If you listen from here, the episodes will continue to go up on Friday.
And a big, big welcome to everyone coming over from Survival Mom radio!

Listener Question
This week’s question comes from Sandee:
“I am wondering if sprouted flour is as healthy as soured flour.”
My answers are in the podcast, plus here are links that pertain:

- Fundamentals eCourse (which teaches soaking, sprouting, and souring)

The Gelatinbook looks really interesting. It seems kind of pricey to me for an ebook. Do you know if there is promo pricing happening anytime soon?

Great podcast! I look forward to using more gelatin. Wardee’s chocolate custard looks awesome and I plan on trying it soon. Before now, I usually just tossed my gelatin powder into my smoothies. Is that a good way to consume gelatin or does it need to be cooked to be beneficial?

Great podcast, Wardeh. What is the difference between the gelatin and collagen linked above? I have the gelatin (though I rarely use it…you can bet I will now.) Do I need both?
Millie says
Hi Robin,
Great question. Sylvie wrote an article answering this: http://www.hollywoodhomestead.com/difference-gelatin-collagen/

I loved this podcast! I am super interested in the raw yogurt that Wardee mentioned she made using gelatin. Is this recipe posted somewhere? I couldn’t find it. Thanks! I’ve been making raw yogurt for awhile now but it never sets as firm as store bought. It would be awesome to know how to do that and BONUS with gelatin!
