This is the BEST salad dressing ever!

My husband can’t live without it. Ok, maybe he could, but he sure doesn’t want to. 😉

We keep it on hand all the time!

The herbs you add in are so flexible and you can also use fresh if you have those. I’ve shared this recipe before and I change it up all the time based on what herbs I have around.

The best change is… lately I’m adding dried vegetable powders from Dr. Cowan’s Garden — especially the horseradish, leek, and sea vegetables. They add amazing flavor and nutrition to an already great dressing!

In addition to being Keto, this easy salad dressing is THM:S as well. Source the best mayonnaise and sour cream you can (or make your own here and here), and enjoy slathering your green salad, burgers, grilled chicken, or veggies with satiating, healthy fats!

Enjoy!

Homemade Ranch Dressing (Keto, THM:S)

There used to be a big hole in my real food recipe collection: the homemade salad dressing hole. I don't mean a vinaigrette (but that's yummy too!). I'm talking about a healthy ranch dressing that's so creamy no one wants to live without it, and so easy no one has to! This is it! Keto compliant with mayonnaise, sour cream, and a mix of fresh or dried herbs, slather it over green salad, burgers, and grilled chicken... or use it as a veggie dip!

How long does this recipe keep in the fridge? I have always hesitated to make homemade dressings because I am afraid they won’t last long enough for me and my husband to finish them! I had the same worries with your homemade mayonnaise recipe, though I made that about 2 months ago, is that still ok to use? I keep it in the fridge and it hasn’t grown mold… still smells ok, but I Am still worried that it’s old!

      Hi Micaela,

The dressing lasts a good two weeks. The mayo… personally I wouldn’t use it after 2 months.

You can always cut the recipes in half. 🙂

          Hi, Diane.

We recommend making this dressing with homemade mayo and sour cream. Homemade mayo and sour cream are very healthy. 🙂 We discuss these more in our Eat God’s Way program.

So delicious. Thank you. Just hubby and I, so I made 1/2 recipe. Filled 3/4 of a pint jar. Used avocado oil mayo. Didn’t have sour cream, so subbed plain greek yogurt. Good. Didn’t have sea vegetable or powdered horseradish. I added a little dried dill and creamy horseradish. Even better after a day in the refrig & the flavors mingled. Glad to have wholesome ingredients & use my spices. This won’t last long and so easy to make. Thank You!

        Hi, Sue,
This recipe makes 2 cups of dressing. I’m sorry we do not have the nutrition facts. There are websites and apps that can help you figure it out depending on what ingredients you use.

    Hi everyone,
I am planning on adding the dry ingredients to a Mason Jar, and then when it’s time to I use it, then you add the Mayo, Sour Cream or with whatever wet ingredients you choose to use.

    Just a thought.

I’ve done 1:1 plain nonfat (or whole milk) Greek yogurt and mayo for years as a higher protein, lower fat base. For herbs, well, Ranch just isn’t Ranch without dill! (The basil and oregano are more suited to an Italian dressing in my opinion, although I have used an Italian Herb mix from the bulk foods section of my supermarket when I didn’t have Ranch mix or dill.)

I’m a rather lazy cook, so I usually avoid dirtying the blender and just put everything in a mason jar and shake, shake, shake. ;D

For a Russian/Thousand Island dressing, which I like on hamburgers, I mix ketchup, mayo, plain Greek yogurt…I’ll just eyeball it. A little horseradish is good in it if it’s going to be used on burgers or maybe a roast beef sandwich; leave it out if it’s going to be used on salad.
