how long does this keep, and does it need to be refrigerated?
Andrea Sabean says
I have had a jar kept at room temperature for several months. Both the aloe vera gel I use and the olive oil are stable at room temperature, so I have never had a problem with it spoiling.
Peggy Huckeba says
My question exactly… Could you add Vit E or an essential oil to preserve it at room temp?
Andrea Sabean says
Hi Peggy, I have not found ti necessary to add anything – but the aloe vera gel I buy is stable at room temperature. If you bought a gel that had to be kept refrigerated, or made the gel yourself, then yes, you would need to add something to preserve it at room temp. One of those two things would probably work, but I haven’t tried it so couldn’t say for sure.
