In the heat of summer, I consider watermelon to be a food group all by itself!
My family, at least, can never get enough watermelon. Not a week goes by that we don’t buy a red beauty and slice it up to enjoy.
We put watermelon in smoothies, add it to lemonade and switchel, make pints of watermelon ice cream, and simply eat it as-is or with a pinch of sea salt.
One of my family’s favorite ways to enjoy this summertime fruit is in a sugar-free, keto-friendly Watermelon Lime Cooler. It’s blended to perfection, deliciously slushy, and so refreshing!
The best thing about this 5-ingredient drink is the whole family can enjoy it!
There’s no alcohol — just lots of watermelon, tangy lime juice, and some additional bubbly probiotic goodness in the form of water kefir or Kombucha. If your kids aren’t used to the flavor of fermented drinks (yet 😉 ), don’t worry — it’s masked by the watermelon and lime.
Ready to make this delectable drink for your next summer potluck, BBQ, or just because? You’ll need a blender and 5 simple ingredients!
Keto Watermelon-Lime Cooler {just 5 ingredients & THM, too!}
With just 5 ingredients, this probiotic Trim Healthy Mama/Keto Watermelon-Lime Cooler is a non-alcoholic, sugar-free way to beat the summer heat! Make it with water kefir or Kombucha and be amazed as adults and kiddos alike gulp down this healthy, stevia-sweetened drink!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water kefir lime, lemon, or ginger flavored or Kombucha (lime is our favorite)
- 2 limes freshly squeezed
- 1/4 teaspoon liquid stevia extract
- 2 cups watermelon seedless, chunks
- 3 cups ice cubes made from pure water
Instructions
-
Add, in order, fermented drink of choice, lime juice, stevia, watermelon, and ice cubes to a high-powered blender such as the Vitamix.
-
Blend on high speed until combined and slushy.
-
If it’s not combining right away, use a low/pulse function a couple of times then stop the blender, give it a stir with a spoon and continue blending on high speed until mixed.
-
Serve immediately. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
- Stevia brands vary in sweetness, the best thing to do is do a taste test to decide whether or not you’ll need to add more to yours.

All the recipes add stevia, I really don’t like stevia. What else can I use for a sweetener?
