Perfect for summertime (or any time), these 3-ingredient kefir pops only take 5 minutes to whip up. Leave to set in the freezer for several hours, and your treats are ready to go.
Why Use Kefir For Healthy Popsicles?
Sure, you could use milk, yogurt, or any other type of liquid you can think of for these popsicles. Yet there are some definite benefits to using kefir instead!
According to Donna Gates in The Body Ecology Diet, “[Kefir] contains strains of beneficial yeast and beneficial bacteria (in a symbiotic relationship) that give kefir antibiotic properties. A natural antibiotic — and it is made from milk!”
Here are a few more kefir benefits:
- Contains more probiotics than yogurt
- Well tolerated by lactose intolerant folks
- Contains the enzyme lactase to help digest lactose
Also, if you’re in the routine of kefir-making, you may wonder how to use up excess kefir from time to time. Now you know you can simply make some delicious pops!
